آپارتمان مدرنی که بی‌توجه به وجوه عملکردی، تنها زیباست، فرقی با ساختمان نما رومی ندارد. هردو به یک میزان خالی از غنا هستند. حتی آن ساختمان مدرن به‌مراتب، بدآموزی بیشتری دارد و باعث کج‌روی‌های بیشتری می‌شود. زمانی طراح می‌تواند ساختمانش را از بقیه متمایز کند که به طرزی خلاقانه روح عملکرد را در آن بدمد.
