Dealing with the term “public spaces” like other terms in the urban engineering vocabulary, has become a comparatively hollow shell; consequently, in the process of construction, the formal aspect of space has the upper hand with the principle of universality. For that reason, spatial designs have remained the priority of architects. Concurrently, the concept that has been forgotten is the principle of universality.

مواجهه با عبارت «فضاهای عمومی» شبیه سایر ترمینولوژی‌های رایج در نظام واژگانی دیسیپلین شهرسازی، جنبه‌های صوری-ظاهری یافته؛ بر همین اساس جنبۀ فرمال مفهوم فضا در عینیت‌بخشی به مفهوم عمومی بودن دست بالاتر را داشته و از همین روست که زمینه‌ای برای زورآزمایی‌های طراحانه-فضاسازانه فراهم می‌آورد؛ در این میان آنچه مهجور و مغفول مانده خودِ مفهوم «عمومی بودن» است.
